National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) has announced dates for submission of NIOS Tutor Marked Assignment for secondary and senior secondary level. The scholars pursuing their class 10 and sophistication 12 educations from the open board need to submit their NIOS assignments before the last date as mentioned within the schedule provided by NIOS. The scholars must submit the NIOS assignments before the last date or their assignments are going to be marked absent which isn’t acceptable. What is NIOS Tutor Marked Assignment?

The Tutor Marked Assignment (TMA) is NIOS assignments to be submitted by the course enrolled in school 10 or class 12 levels. For every subject selected by the scholars , there are three assignments that carry 6 questions. Students are required to finish all the assignments and undergo the topic teachers/tutors/coordinators at the allotted Accredited Institute (AI) for evaluation.

TMA carries every sort of question i.e. Very short answers, short answers, long answers, and project (practical) based questions.

Format of NIOS assignments

TMA carries 20 marks and as per the format, there’ll be 6 questions as mentioned under –

Questions 1, 2 and three are short answers type questions. Each question has two options of which just one has got to be attempted. Each question carries 2 marks and thus, this section carries 6 marks.

Question 4 and 5 are long answer type questions. These questions too have choices and you simply need to attempt one and for every question, 4 marks are going to be given i.e. For both the questions 8 marks is allotted.
The question no. 6 comprises two projects and students need to attempt just one of the 2 . This question carries 6 marks.

NIOS assignments are provided by ais to students as per the below-mentioned schedule –

For April/May & Oct/Nov
• TMA – By Learners to review centres – 31st January
• TMA – Feedback by the topic Teacher to the Learner – 15th February
For October/November Exam
• TMA – By Learners to review centres – 31st July
• TMA – Feedback by the topic Teacher to the Learner – 15th August

Note: If the last date of assignment submission falls on public holiday/ Saturday/ Sunday then, subsequent working day are going to be considered because the last date for NIOS assignment submission.
Importance of NIOS Assignments –

TMA for the secondary level will carry 20% weightage within the NIOS assignments marks are going to be mentioned separately (in a special column) on the mark sheet of scholars after the ultimate examinations.
Students are going to be ready to understand the way to write accurate answers in examinations
They will get to understand the feedback from the tutors, which can help them know their progress for his or her course
